This was an interesting read about being a non american black in the US, blackness she only discovered when she entered the USA. Sometimes, especially at the parties of her university professor boyfriend, I felt the people so pretentious at points. When she comes back to Nigeria she feels lost in here home-country also. It is interesting to read about Nigerias struggles as a modern African country.
This book was written a decade ago, which I could see because Ifemelu would nowadays probably make a podcast and not a blog!
