Since each person was the centre of his own existence, what was really happening was that you and your elevator-room were staying still while the world outside moved up or down.
This was a good choice to read in these awfully hot last days. Totaly absurd, but really funny. The restaurant scene makes you completely understand why there are vegan terrorists... I like that the hero of the day is Parker Chai, a modest mover, although Joyce loses some of her feminist cool to instantly sigh that it is good a real man takes charge to moment he arrives. But then again she has a crush on him so...
